Gateway one of three ‘model programs’ to present webinar
Gateway Domestic Violence Center recently was one of three “model programs” selected by the National Network to End Domestic Violence to present a webinar on transitional housing.
“Transitional Housing Program Designs: Taking a Closer Look at Model Programs” brought together three transitional housing programs of varying size, structure and location. The webinar provided a glimpse into how others around the country are implementing their programs.
Representatives from more than 120 domestic violence agencies had the opportunity to hear about successes and provide insight into the creative ways they have navigated challenging situations. Presenting on behalf of Gateway were Cindy Bryant, transitional housing advocate, and Jessica Butler, executive director.
Gateway operates both an emergency shelter and transitional housing program for survivors of domestic violence. In 2016, 19 women and their 39 children lived in Gateway’s transitional housing program. The nonprofit recently announced a capital campaign to build a new emergency shelter.
