Gateway awarded GuideStar’s Platinum Seal

Gateway Domestic Violence Center is pleased to announce our platinum-level certification by GuideStar, a nonprofit organization whose mission is “to revolutionize philanthropy by providing information that advances transparency, enables users to make better decisions, and encourages charitable giving.”

Known as “the search engine for nonprofit information,” GuideStar gathers and disseminates data about every IRS-registered nonprofit organization. It provides information about each nonprofit’s mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, transparency, governance and more so the public can make informed decisions about support.

Earning GuideStar’s Platinum Seal means Gateway “has demonstrated a commitment to transparency” by reporting in quantitative terms our progress as it relates to our mission.

According to GuideStar, Platinum participation helps by:

• Demonstrating that you are an organization that is focused on measuring your progress and result.
• Giving potential funders information they crave.
• Showing improvement and results year over year.
• Providing a concrete alternative to donor evaluation through overhead ratio alone.
